Major Blog Fail!

So I haven't posted anything in like...forever.

I have absolutely no idea what to write about right now, nor do I have the time to write a full post. This is merely an apology (to my 1 or 2 readers?) for completely failing to find time for this. I promise, I'll think of something good...eventually.

But here's another option.

Feel free at any time to offer some topics! Ones that are preferably appropriate, not super vague, and something that I might actually have something to say about.

Until the next time that I actually have time to attempt writing a witty post (hopefully tomorrow), peace out :)

Sports

Quite the simple topic really. Broad, yet simple.

By request of my friend/soul mate/unbiological sister, I am taking this chance to share my opinion on sports, her obsession.

My opinion: It's a good obsession.

I like sports. They're fun and when you're good at them, it's quite a rewarding feeling. I mostly just play hockey. Said friend is actually our extremely loveable goalie for our half season and was this year for the school season. Sadly, she is leaving us.

Anyway, hockey, yes, the king of all sports.

Hockey is amazing. That's all there really is to it. I mean what other sport, besides figure skating, lets you skate around on ice really fast while trying to maintain some sort of control over your body? Plus you have to put a puck in a net. Easy concept, not so easy execution.

Let's see...there's also softball, of which I am rather fond.

I played for...8 years? However I've retired for the sake of the theatre! Which I love with all my heart, and is due up as a topic sometime in the near future. Anyway, softball, fun stuff. My friend also plays this and, I've heard, for I've never actually seen her play, is quite good.

Hmmm other sports...let's go with football, baseball, lacrosse, wrestling, golf, racing, and soccer.

Football. Not a fan, though I'm forced to watch it at least once a year and I have to play in the band at the school games. It's pointless to me. I understand it and I'm sure it's fun if you actually like it, but I see no need for the glorification of large men who like to attack each other for a ball.

Baseball. I spend half my life at baseball fields so I'm ok with this one. The only thing that makes me angry is that baseball players think baseball is better slash harder than softball. That and they use steroids way too much. It's called working out, try it. Here's a few bits of information for you: Despite the completely stupid naming of our sport, our ball is in fact harder than yours. It is also much larger and therefore harder to throw and hit long distances. Our bats are also longer. Our pitching is much more complicated. We also don't have cushiony grass in the infield to slow down a hard hit ball. Sorry, but we win.

Lacrosse. I just don't get it. I really don't I'm sorry. That's all I have to say.

Wrestling. Mad props to wrestlers who like actually wrestle. Like high school and college wrestling. That takes SERIOUS skill and dedication. However the professionals should maybe focus a little more on the sport and less on their image...just a thought.

Golf. I HATE golf. I'm really sorry but I just CANNOT watch it or play it or even talk about it. I find it exceedingly boring and I'm sure that could just be because I grew up with it on every single day and I just never saw any fun in it. I don't mean to offend. I apologize.

Racing. I don't see what's fun about driving a car around the same track over and over and over again for like 3 hours...And I especially don't see how someone can just watch this on tv...You don't even need to be physically fit to sit in a car and drive. How is this a sport?

Soccer. Soccer is an excellent sport. It takes serious skill and it's 100% real. All you've got is the pads on your shins and a mouth guard, if that. Pretty excellent in my opinion.

And that, my extremely small handful of readers, is my opinion on sports. Not too interesting I know. My apologies. Sports aren't entirely my thing.

Friends and Why They Make My Life

There are many types of friends.

I apologize for my moment of sounding like the author of a children's book.

However, that statement is still very true.

My friends mean the world to me, whether they know it or not. There are the friends you don't talk to much but you know you'd be lost without them, the friends you disagree with all the time but you love them all the same, the ones you talk to everyday and would be miserable without, and the ones that you never want to lose.

Some friends fit more than one of those categories. And, of course, those are not the only categories. They're just some basic types that come to mind when I think of my friends.

I love each and every one of them. Whether I talk to them much or not, see them all the time or not, or hang out with them a lot or not, I love them.

In all honesty, I would be completely lost without my friends.

I don't really know how to put what I want to say into words. It's too complex of a feeling. However, a good feeling. One that I wouldn't trade for the world.

I have the kind of friends that mean more to me than life itself. I could easily take a bullet for nearly any one of my friends. There are the kind that I tell everything because I know they won't judge or get mad. There are the kind I sometimes disagree with and we joke in a somewhat odd way, but I love them. There are the kind who always look out for me and tell me the truth even when it may hurt, the kind I could never be mad at. Some tell me everything and their trust means more to me than they know. There are some that are always there to help me through the suckish times and know more about me than anyone else. They may even know more about me than I do. There are the ones who are leaving me, perhaps for college, that it will be difficult to get by without, and I pray that we keep in touch, because you've changed me for the better and I could never thank you enough for everything you've given me and I could never tell you enough times how much I love you.

I could never possibly list all the kinds of friends I have. But I consider myself truly blessed to have them. I am the luckiest person in the world to have such caring friends who look out for me.

If you're reading right now, know this:

I love you more than I can say. Your friendship means more to me than you will ever know. I never want to lose touch with any of you. You make my life better than I ever believed it could be. I don't quite know how to say it, but when I say I love you, I mean it more than I mean anything else I could ever say to anyone. Know that you mean more to me than perhaps anything else and if I said I would die without you, I would. Emotionally of course, but it's perhaps more painful than anything I will ever have to endure.

So, to my friends:

I love you.
