Various Rants I

As suggested by a friend, I am installing a "Random Thoughts" post, except I'm not calling it that. It's various rants. Obviously you can figure that out on your own. Because you can read. Or else you wouldn't even be on this site in the first place, correct?

Anyway, this is where I will share short bursts of thought on random things.

-- The phrase "This one time, at band camp," is entirely over used. That never really happens. Not in the experience I've had at band camp anyway, and as far as I know, it hasn't happened in anyone else's. Stop saying it. It's annoying to those of us who know how much band camp can actually suck.

-- I recently was told about a question on the permit test that asked which car you let go first at a 4-way intersection if there's a mail truck, fire truck with its siren on, and a police car with its siren on. Apparently, the mail truck, because it's a federal car. This, in my opinion, is stupid. You never know, those few seconds could be the difference between life and death in an emergency. I'm sure the folks down the street can wait for their bills and copies of Sports Illustrated. Personally, I'd let the fire truck or police car go. I don't care.

-- The new ABC Family series "10 Things I Hate About You" has caught my attention. However, I can't decide if I like it or not. I mean it's not bad, but it's NOTHING like the movie, which I LOVE. I mean this Kat is nowhere near as abrasive as the original Kat. This Bianca just isn't the same somehow. This Patrick is somehow too nice, not as funny, and not NEARLY as good looking as Heath Ledger was. Why they chose to make Chastity such an important character is beyond me. And where is Mandela's obsession with everything Shakespeare!? She's NOTHING like the original character, which sucks, because the original was awesome. Cameron is actually pretty good and his little friend's alright. And I quite like that the dad is the same guy as from the movie.

-- I saw a guy with gauges at the gas station the other day. Really big ones. Like you could fit two fingers through the hole in his ear lobe. It was a little disgusting.

-- Summer reading and summer work pisses me off. A lot. We only have 2 months of summer. This is our ONLY time to get away from the work. So WHY the HELL do we have to do work during the summer? We NEVER get a break. All of our supposed "vacations" require us to do some form of work. I'm sick of it.

-- The Jonas Brothers piss me off too. I mean they have talent, I'll give them that. They play more than one instrument and just that they CAN play instruments makes them somewhat respectable in my eyes. But they're entirely overrated. It drives me crazy. There are plenty of BETTER bands out there that should be bigger than they are, but the female teen aged population is far too obsessed with them. They aren't even that good looking. Good for them, they're "living the dream," but loads of other bands could too.

-- Age difference work in a really weird way. In relationships I mean. For some reason it's always ok for a guy to go for a younger girl. The younger, the weirder though, but they still do it. But if a girl ever dates down more than like one year, it's like a big no? However, that's only in high school and college and such. As soon as we're thrust into the real world, that's ok? And guys never have to worry. It's all just really overcomplicated and stupid.
