That may be a lie. I like to think that I'm sane and that everything that goes through my mind is somehow "normal." However, that is very likely NOT the case. The reason for my recent self-doubt about my sanity? Driver's ed.
Five days. Six and a half hours each day. It's summer. It's hot outside. There are two small windows. There are 13 students. Our teacher is oblivious. We're cracking.
There is really no point for us to sit through this in my opinion. We don't learn anything. We don't even pay attention. We are only thrust further and further into sleep debt. The 5-15 minute videos that we watch several of each day are a godsend. Movies = sleep.
Our exam is tomorrow. 50 multiple choice questions, apparently very easy. Our teacher, Bob (Yes, Bob.) told us that the questions would only be based on whatever text was in red on the PowerPoints, or, as he refers to them, modules. So far, we've taken down MAYBE 15 things that were in red. Make sense to you? Thought not. Because it surely seems pointless to me.
We draw. We text. We listen to our iPods. But most often, we sit and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Bob makes us read the slides in the modules, so we're forced to stay awake.
Lunch is half an hour long. Or...well...it's supposed to be. Today it was an hour long. Bob says he was trying to get a new car for another branch of the school. Our thoughts -- Bob was smoking. He does this. A lot. I think that's why there are so many movies in the modules...see there I go. I meant PowerPoints.
We get occasional 10 minute breaks, during which we all run across the street to the convenience store. Why? AC.
This post is pointless...
Bob also has a habit of saying "mkay?" after every sentence. It's quite entertaining to monitor his use of this phrase. Once you realize it, it's all you hear.
I really don't know what else to write...
Can I be done now?
Sorry for wasting your time.
But hey, what else would you be doing right now if you had the time to read this?
